Cupping is an Ancient Chinese therapy that has been practiced for thousands of years to promote blood circulation, help activate the lymphatic system, treat disorders, relieve muscle pain, and repair tissue damage.

How cupping works: A cup is applied to the skin and by using a manual pump, the skin is suctioned inside the cup. Once on the skin, the cups can remain stationary or the therapist can glide them across the tissues. At Foundations we offer Dry Cupping although there are many different forms.

Cupping is easily incorporated into a massage treatment and is used to help:

  • break up fascial adhesions
  • decrease muscle soreness
  • alleviate trigger points
  • increase range of motion;
  • promote relaxation.
